The Wolfman is a 2010 horror film directed by Joe Johnston. The film is a remake of the 1941 film of the same name . The film stars Benicio Del ToroAnthony Hopkins,Emily Bluntand Hugo Weaving . The film won an Academy Award in 2011 for best makeup.

Lawrence Talbot returns after a long time back home. He gets from his father John told his brother died. This remains the only heir who is Lawrence. He falls in love with Gwen Conliffe and it looks like Lawrence luck is on his side. Until he is attacked one night by a wolf. Lawrence survives the attack, but will be left with a dangerous curse.Because as soon as the full moon is, he changes into a werewolf.

Universal Pictures announced In March 2006 that they are a remake of the film The Wolf Man 1941 would make. Benicio Del Toro, a big fan of the original movie and a collector of Wolf Man memorabilia, got the lead role. Andrew Kevin Walker wrote the screenplay, while Del Toro films like Werewolf of London (1935) and The Curse of The Werewolf (1961) used as a source of inspiration.

In February 2007, Mark Romanek on board to film to the project. The film was at that time scheduled for november 2008. In september 2007, the premiere postponed until early 2009. In January 2008, Romanek it on because of "creative differences", though some sources claim that he was not satisfied with the film budget. Brett Ratner became the largest contender to Romanek on to follow, but the movie studio also spoke with other directors such as Frank DarabontJames Mangoldand Joe Johnston . On 3 February 2008, passed the torch to Johnston. Johnston enlisted the help of David Self to rewrite the screenplay. The premiere was now shifted to 2010.

From March to June 2008 found the recordings in the United Kingdom. The recordings mainly went by in the Pinewood Studios. The makeup of the protagonist was provided by Rick Baker, who is a makeup artist was because as a young boy he was inspired by films such as The Wolf Man. His job to Del Toro into a werewolf to conjure, was not simply because Del Toro is naturally very hairy. Because of this there is little leeway to experiment. "The step of Benicio Del Toro into a werewolf is not great," said Baker. It took three hours to the makeup to apply and an hour to get it back to remove.
