The Pointer Sisters is an American pop group. The four sisters RuthAnitaBonnie and June († 2006), children of Rev. Elton Pointer, began their singing career in the 1960s in the Church by their father.

Bonnie hooked in 1978 and continued his solo career; She had short time a recording contract with Motown. The others went as a trio on and scored hits like Fire (written by Bruce Springsteen), HappinessJump (for my love) and for the soundtrack to Beverly Hills Cop included Neutron Dance. June left the group in 2004 and was replaced by Issa, the daughter of Ruth who regularly fell in the previous two years her mother or one of the two aunts. In 2009 she was replaced by Sadako Johnson, the granddaughter of Ruth. In addition, Issa still as permanent replacement on during performances.

During the last years experience the Pointer Sisters again a success period in Europe. In 2002 they took part in the "Night of the Proms", a series of concerts in the Benelux, France and Germany, and were elected by the public to the most favorite act. In addition, names the three ladies in 2005 together with the Flemish singer Natalia Druyts the song "Sisters are doing it for themselves", and this reached number two in the Belgian charts. This cooperation led in January 2006 to a series of ten sold-out concerts at the Sports Palace in Antwerp.
