The Cuckoo's Calling is a detective novel written by British author J. K. Rowling, published in april 2013 under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. [1]


Over the years, Rowling often talked about writing a detective novel. In 2007 explained author Ian Rankin on the Edingburh Book Festival that his wife Rowling had been spotted in a cafe, where they said it was working on a detective novel. Rankin took off his statement back later and called it a joke. [2the rumors were, however, persistent and in 2012, for the publication of some good adviceThe Guardian newspaper speculated that Rowlings next book would concern a detective novel. [3]

The cuckoo's Calling was published on 18 april 2013 by Publisher Little, Brown & Company and was since 14 July 2013 at number 30.486 of the list of best-selling books. [4Later that day, then once known was touched that the book was written by Rowling in reality, it was at number one.
