Sean John Combs (New York Citynovember 4, 1969), better known by his multiple pseudonyms Puff Daddyp. DiddyDiddy and Diddy-Dirty Money is an American recordproducerrapper and-owner of record label Bad Boy Records. He is since the mid-90 's of the 20th century one of the driving forces behind the hip hop and gangsta rap.

[hide]*1 Biography

Sean Combs grew up in HarlemNew York. He was educated at Howard University in Washington D.C. before he was intern at Uptown Records. Soon had Sean Combs a managerial task and he was responsible for producing albums by stars such as Mary j. Blige and Heavy d. & the Boyz. After three years, he was fired in 1993 . To this end, Combs founded his own record label, Bad Boy Entertainment. His first two artists were Craig Mack and The Notorious b.i.g., both of which quickly released. With the debut album by The Notorious b.i.g. (Ready to Die), established Combs (which are now called Puff Daddy) name as a producer.

Soon extended Bad Boy Entertainment with artists such as Faith Evans112 and Mase(a little later). Combs also did production work for Lil ' KimMariah CareyBoyz II Men and Aretha Franklin.

Bad Boy Entertainment soon became the great rival of Death Row Records, the record label based in Los Angeles by Suge Knight including 2Pac and Dr. Dre were under contract. In 1996 degenerated this conflict between the west coast and the East Coast in the murder of 2Pac, half a year later by the murder of The Notorious b.i.g. Both murders are not solved to this day. The second album by The Notorious b.i.g., that just a few weeks after his death came out posthumously, became a huge success.

After the murder of The Notorious b.i.g. Combs began with his own rap career with the singles " Can't Nobody Hold Me Down and I'll be Missing You. That last song was a tribute to The Notorious b.i.g. along with his widow Faith Evans and 112. On I'll be missing you made Combs using a sample of The Police (Every Breathe You Take).Despite scathing critiques on the song, it became a worldwide success and was in many countries, including Belgium, Netherlands and weeks-or months long on number 1.

An album followed In 1998 by Combs, entitled No way out. On this album were some other successful singles, as it's all about the Benjamins and Leg Around The World.Combs worked on the album along with a large number of artists of his own label. The album was a great success and in 1998 won a Grammy Award for Combs as best R & Balbum. In that year he won for I'll be missing you a Grammy for best rap performance. Nevertheless, the damning criticisms. Combs was blamed mainly using samples and musical virtually nothing to add. A second album that was received equally destructive outcome in 1999 (Forever) was a big flop.

Combs was indicted In april 2000 for hitting Steve Stoute of Interscope Records. Stoute was the manager of rapper Nas. In the video clip of Nas was a recording of Combs who was crucified . Although Combs had previously worked on these recordings, he later demanded that the images from the music video were removed. Stoute's refusal led to the charge of assault.

Around that time came Combs more often negative in the news. During a police investigation into a shooting at a nightclub in New York in which Combs and his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were present was Combs accused the firearm to have smuggled out and his driver to have paid hush money. Combs was indicted for the disappearance of a firearm and bribery. In this period was Combs almost daily in the newspapers and other accusations followed another.

Combs was acquitted of the main charges. The relationship with Jennifer Lopez was meanwhile broken. Combs changed his name to p. Diddy to make a fresh start. But also in the following years Combs still regularly sued for, among other things, violent crimes and driving without a valid driver's license.

He worked slowly. musical Combs moved with David BowieBritney Spears and * NSYNC. Also, he released a new album entitled The Saga Continues ..., followed by We Invented The Remix Vol. 1, which again a number of hits is derived. Combs began In 2002 with its own reality show on music channel MTV. In this program (Making the band 2) competed six bands to a recording contract with Bad Boy Entertainment.

In addition to his musical work began Combs to work for charities. In 2003 , he ran the New York marathon , where he collected $ 2 million for education of children in New York. After he again in August 2005 by stage name switched to "Diddy" Sean Combs beginning september 2006 , got to hear that he's no longer allowed to use yet, at least not in the United Kingdom. One Richard "Diddy" Dearlove was made namely that he abused his stage name. [1In that same month he released his single Come to Me (a duet with Nicole Scherzinger of The Pussycat Dolls) off again as "p. Diddy" in a number of European countries, including in Netherlands. However, it took out the not Top 40 . The second single from the album Press Play is Tell Me, along with Christina Aguilera.

Combs is also active as an actor. For this he received on may 2, 2008 a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Diddy starred in the movie Get Him To The Greek. He also appeared on 18 april 2011 as undercover FBI investigator in the 21st episode of the television series Hawaii Five-0.

Combs has as nicknames Puff Daddy, p. Diddy, Diddy had. He has also called himself a week long Swag. He has his name changed three times in a year and a half time, journalists call it a mid-lifecrisis.

Combs is the biological father of five children. He has with his childhood girlfriend Misa Hylton-Brim a son. With Kim (Bada) Porter, with whom he has had a long on-again, off-again relationship for years, he has a son and two daughters (twins). Porter has a son from a previous relationship, for whom he is a stepfather . In July 2007 Combs and Porter after more than ten years apart. Three months later it was announced that he has a daughter with Sarah Chapman. He wanted a visit arrangement with the girl and would go pay for her maintenance .
