Heather was born in Thousand Oaks but grew up in Scottsdale. She performed for the first time in the spotlight in 2006 when they participated in the preliminary rounds of the second season of So You Think You Can Dance. They hit just failed at the last 20 candidates, but they did not give up and decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a dancer from building up. She got her big break in 2007, when she was asked by Beyoncé Knowles to go along on a world tour. They even went together for a second time on tour and then gave up a small role in the film Fired Up. So she got also some smaller roles in series such as Eli Stone and Swingtown.
When she was asked to the actors of the series Glee the little dance of Beyonce's Single Ladies to learn, it turned out that the show just was looking for a third cheerleader. She got the role and gradually grew its share of the series, especially when the writers found out that Heather has a gift for one-liners. In the second season she was a full member of the choir (and the show) and immediately got her own episode: Britney/Brittany.
