The Dutch women baseball team is the national team of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The team comes under the direct responsibility of the Foundation women's Baseball Netherlands and indirectly of the Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association that the team only acknowledge and want to register with the IBAFhas, the overarching global Baseball Federation. The team played the first official international games during the World Championships to Venezuelain August 2010. The final selection was announced on July 18, 2010. On 16 May 2010, it was the last of a series held try outs. From a first selection of 24 players the final team was formed.
In 2010, for the first time participated, as the first European team to the World Championships , which were held in Venezuela from 12 to 22 August. By a lack of support from the bond to pay all costs themselves served the players. The development of baseball in the Netherlands know women unlike other countries little to no federal support. On the site of the Sports Confederation the selection not listed or a link to the World Championships. Women who can only do so in a men's baseball team but this is not encouraged. Last year there was even a bestuursvoorstel to letting women playing in the Fourth Division and later ban. Recently there is a women's team, the Pink Panthers from Zwijndrecht, that in the regular federal League plays in the fifth class. And much of the current selection for the Dutch team come from this team. Well there are several associations that work with youth teams that single out girls exist. Also play several youth players and some adult players regular in the men's competition.
