Daktari is a television series from the 1960s about a veterinarian named Dr. Marsh Tracy, his daughter Paula and his staff located in the natural park Wameru Study Center for Animal Behavior in East Africa. Daktari means ' doctor ' in Swahili. The series came about after the film Clarence, the cross-eyed Lion was released.

Division Of Roles[Edit]Edit

The name is derived from the Swahili Daktari doctor. In Kenya the active Dutch ecologist and veterinarian Toni harthoorn was a model for Daktari.
